International human rights organization, Amnesty International has demanded «fair trial” for the Sahrawi political prisoners of Gdeim Izik, APS reported.

The trial of 24 Sahrawis, will be held on March 13 in a civilian court.

The non-governmental organization urged the Moroccan authorities to guarantee a fair trial during the proceedings.

“This includes respect for the presumption of innocence, effective investigations into allegations of torture or other ill-treatment in custody, and exclusion of any evidence obtained under duress,” said the AI.

The NGO highlighted that it has, on several occasions, called on the Moroccan authorities to investigate human rights violations, taking place in the custody.

The AI also opposed the trial of civilians before military courts.
