Three new rock art places dating back to the prehistoric era have been discovered recently and in Berriane, Ghardaia (600-km south of Algiers), the province’s Culture Department told APS.
These deposits, described as “important” by archaeologists and other specialists in prehistory and rock art, were discovered by young scouts in the region during a camp in a desert area some thirty kilometers east of Berriane, near Oued-Laroui, said Mohamed Alouani in charge of heritage at the direction of Culture.
