On 1 November 1954, the national liberation war is triggered from the Aures, land of brave Chaouis, sounding the death knell for the myth of “French Algeria” which still makes cry up the nostalgic in the other side of the Mediterranean.
The declaration of 1 November 1954 was the will of all Algerians who were under the yoke of colonialism, determined to wrest their freedom, convinced that freedom is wrested. It was also the only and main theme of the Group of 22 at its historic meeting in June 1954 in Algiers.
The transition to the armed struggle was the only solution to the Algerian people to break the colonial yoke and to end colonialism. With repression every day, Algerian people welcomed the revolution and integrated the armed struggle without hesitating, instantly and joyfully, making the Algerian revolution unique of its kind and an example to follow by the oppressed Peoples in the world until today.
