The former Minister of National Education, Nouria Benghabrit, provided, on Thursday afternoon, details on her summons to the tribunal.
In a tweet, the former Minister during Bouteflika’s reign said no charges have been brought against her by the tribunal.
“Faced with the disinformation spread by certain media outlets and in social networks, I would like to point out that I was summoned by the tribunal of Sidi M’hamed on December 23, 2020 as a” witness “(…) no charges have been brought against me, ” wrote Benghabrit.
Summoned for the first time by justice
It is worth recalling that Nouria Benghabrit was summoned as a witness by the investigating judge specializing in financial crime at Sidi M’hamed tribunal.
In this vein, this first appearance raised many questions, as it comes two weeks after the imprisonment of both the former Minister of Post and Technology, Imane Houda Feraoun , and former Minister of Industry, Djamila Tamazirt.
As a reminder, Nouria Benghabrit held the post of Minister of National Education from May 5, 2014 to March 31, 2019 (4th term of former President Abdeleziz Bouteflika).
