Abdelghani Bouteflika, brother of the former President Abdelaziz Bouteflika passed away, this Sunday, February 7, 2021, according to a family source. The deceased, who was ill and hospitalized, was a lawyer by profession.
For his part, the President of the Bar of Algiers, Lawyer Abdelmadjid Sellini, announced, on Sunday, the death of Lawyer Abdelghani Bouteflika, brother of the former President of the Republic, in a statement, in which he writes in substance:
“It is with great sorrow and sadness that we learnt of the death of Lawyer Abdelghani Bouteflika.”
“On this painful ordeal, the President of the Bar of Algiers, Abdelmadjid Sellini, presents, on his own behalf, and on behalf of the members of the Batonnat and all the lawyers of Algiers, his sincere condolences to the family of the deceased, praying Allah the Almighty to welcome him in His Vast Paradise and grant his family and loved ones patience and solace, “wrote Abdelmadjid Sellini.
Abdelghani Bouteflika, unlike the two brothers Nasser and Said, remained out of politics, preferring to devote himself to the exercise of his profession as a lawyer before settling in France.
It should be noted that this is the second sibling of the former President to die since the first was the doctor Mustapha Bouteflika, who died, of a cancer, at the age of 57 in 2010.
