STOCKHOLM- The film "Their Algeria (Leur Algére)" by director Lina Soualem (French of Algerian-Palestinian origin), will compete at the 11th Arab Film Festival in Malmo (Sweden), to be held from 6 to April 11 with the participation of nearly 40 films from 23 countries, the organizers said.

The program of the 11th edition of the Malmo Festival, which began, on Tuesday, in the presence of the organizers and whose festivities “are being broadcast via the Internet, includes two competitions for the best feature film (12 films) and the best short film (17 films) .

At the start of the festival, the film “The Man Who Sold His Skin” by Tunisian director Kaouther Ben Hania was screened, after being on the final list of Oscar nominations for best multinational film.

In addition, three (3) films would be presented as part of the “Arabian Nights” program, as well as 8 short films under a cooperation program between the Arab cinema company in Sweden and the “Red Star” films company “, in addition to debates on cinematography-related issues.

Created in 2011, the festival of Malmo tends to create bridges between Arab culture and Western ones through films, being a global visual language.
