ALGIERS- The kickoff of the commercial and cultural event “Ramadan at the Palace” running from April 8 to May 7 was given, on Thursday, at the Pins Maritimes Exhibition Center (Algiers).
The Minister of Commerce, Kamel Rezig who opened the event attended by a large influx of citizens, specified that this event is one of dozens of commercial spaces that will open at the national level in order to bring together the producer
and the consumer, enabling him to benefit from reasonable prices.
“The event saw the participation of more than 170 exhibitors of different products including companies and artisans,” Rezig said, adding that SAFEX is able to accommodate more.
“This is an opportunity for traders wishing to market their products,” pointed out the minister, adding that exhibitors have resorted to the discount and promotional sale of food products, appliances, clothing, textiles, tableware, and crafts.
He, also, invited young traders, in particular sellers of highly prized products during the holy month, such as; “Zelabia, Kalb Ellouz and Cherbet” to adhere to this approach and benefit from promotional sales spaces at Safex for a small rent.
Visitors can benefit from parking lots and recreational areas for children and adults with symbolic prices, he said.
The minister warned against speculation and monopoly, affirming the mobilization of agents of the Ministry of Commerce and the security services for this purpose.
Regarding the soaring prices of vegetables and fruits in the South, the minister reassured that the price increase, only, affected out-of-season products.
