KONYA (Turkey)- Prime Minister Aimene Benabderrahmane attended, Tuesday evening in Konya, Turkey, as representative of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the opening ceremony of the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games.
The Turkish President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan chaired the opening ceremony which saw the presence of Mr. Aïmene Benabderrahmane, accompanied by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Abderrazak Sebgag, the Ambassador of Algeria in Turkey, Sofiane Mimouni, and the President of the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee, Abderrahmane Hamad.
Shortly before this ceremony, the Prime Minister was invited to a dinner hosted by the Turkish President in honor of his guests at the 5th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games.
As a reminder, Algeria is participating in the Islamic Solidarity Games, which take place from August 9 to 18, with 147 athletes in 12 disciplines.
Nearly 6,000 athletes representing 56 countries are taking part in this edition.
The Islamic Solidarity Games are a multinational sporting event, organized by the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (established on May 6, 1985 in Riyadh), under the aegis of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
