Nouakchott (Mauritania), (SPS) - Member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Minister of Interior of SADR, Mr. Mansour Omar, was received, Thursday, at the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott, by the Mauritanian President, Mr. Mohamed Ould Sheikh El Ghazwani, who handed him a letter from the Saharawi President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali.
In a statement to the Mauritanian News Agency, Mansour said, “I was honored to meet with His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Sheikh El-Ghazwani, where I handed him a letter from his brother and friend, Mr. Brahim Ghali, President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, concerning the developments of the Saharawi issue in the light of the efforts of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations,” who visited the region over the past weeks.
The Minister of Interior indicated that the meeting was an opportunity to listen to the advice of His Excellency, President Mohamed Ould Sheikh El-Ghazwani, on this issue, which is in line with the brotherly relations and good neighborliness between the two brotherly countries, and the consultations that the leadership of the two countries has been engaged in on issues of concern to the region.
The meeting was attended on the Mauritanian side by Minister of Interior and Decentralization, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed El Amine, Director of the Office of the President of the Republic of Mauritania, Mr. Ismail Ould Sheikh Ahmed, and on the Sahrawi sideby Minister Counselor, Mr. Salek Babbih, Commander of the Second Military Region, Mr. Hamma Malou.
