ALGIERS- Algeria, which is working to resuscitate joint Arab action, has met the optimal conditions to ensure the success of the upcoming Arab Summit, slated in Algiers on November 1 and 2, said Prime Minister Mr. Aimene Benabderrahmane.
Presenting the Government’s General Policy Statement before the members of the People’s National Assembly (APN), in the section relating to foreign policy, Mr. Benabderrahmane specified that the Arab Summit in Algiers “should consolidate common values and Arab solidarity, consecrate the centrality of the Palestinian cause and update the Arab peace initiative of 2002”.
Highlighting the priorities of Algeria’s diplomatic action for the years to come, the Prime Minister underlined that our country “will focus on the defense of the interests of the Nation, the contribution to the regional security and stability, the strengthening of ties with Africa and the Arab world, the development of partnership and the strengthening of peace in the world, the redeployment of economic diplomacy in the service of the peoples, the modernization of the diplomatic tool and the management of human resources as well as the elaboration of a new strategy for our national community abroad”.
On the instructions of the President of the Republic, the Government’s efforts during this period were directed towards “strengthening ties with Africa and the Arab world, by contributing to the implementation of African initiatives, including the agreement on the African Continental Free Trade Area (ZLECAF) and African infrastructure projects, such as; the trans-Saharan road”, added the Prime Minister.
Algeria has doubled “its efforts to contribute to stability and security in the region to which it belongs and whose countries are linked to it by strong and multiple historical, political and human ties. Algeria is also working to further strengthen its economic cooperation with a number of friendly African, Arab and European countries”.
Mr. Benabderrahmane highlighted “the strong return of Algerian diplomacy and the pivotal and pioneering role that Algeria plays in the region, as well as the interest accorded by the various countries to Algeria’s positions vis-à-vis vis-à-vis a number of regional and international issues, which denotes the effectiveness of the Government’s approach aimed at implementing the commitments of the President of the Republic, in particular his determination to update the objectives and missions of Algerian diplomacy, by anchoring the values and principles that underpin it, in the light of the structural and economic factors that define its trajectory”.
Electronic portal dedicated to Algiers’ Arab Summit: Rich information, services for benefit of participants (Full details)
The electronic portal launched in anticipation of the 31st Arab Summit, scheduled for November 1 and 2 in Algiers, includes rich information and important documents for those interested in the Summit, in addition to themes and services intended for participants and journalists.
Launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, in collaboration with various ministerial departments, including the Ministries of Post and Telecommunications and Communication, the electronic portal (www.arabsummit2022.dz) is made up of several sections, including documents, the agenda of the Summit, and a platform reserved for the registration of the delegations present at the event, enriched and provided with media content, including preparations for the Summit by the parties concerned.
The Prime Minister, Mr. Aïmene Benabderrahmane, chaired on July 4 the launching ceremony of the electronic portal dedicated to the next Arab Summit, which he dubbed as “an integral part of the preparations for the Arab Summit, supervised by the national commission in charge of the preparation and the organization of this meeting which takes care of the media aspects inherent to the Summit with a view to facilitating the registration of the Arab delegations and informing them of all the organizational arrangements”.
In addition to the videos, the electronic portal includes photos of meetings and speeches delivered by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in relation to the Arab Summit, among other information, including testimonies from Arab countries having welcomed the efforts of the President of the Republic for the success of this Arab event.
The user can access the main page which includes a tab dedicated to the Arab League with an overview of the regional organization, its creation, its members, the main objectives enshrined in its constitutive act and the roles it has fulfilled since its existence in favor of the struggle of the Arab peoples for independence and the promotion of peace and security in the Arab world through the peaceful settlement of conflicts.
In addition, the portal displays a tab dedicated to the Summit, with a welcome address to guests and delegations participating in this event, to be held in Algeria, coinciding with the 68th anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious November Revolution.
On the same window, information on the commitment of Algeria, which joined the Arab League a few weeks after its independence, to defend the causes of the Ummah.
The same page also indicates that the Algiers Summit “is being held in complex international and regional circumstances, sensitive events and difficult contexts.
The portal also features passages to make Algeria and its cultural heritage known, as well as media materials on the November 1 Revolution. The portal will be supplied with the agenda and the Summit guide. A special link will be sent through diplomatic channels to the participating delegations to access the registration site, the date of which will be known later.
