ALGIERS- A delegation of business leaders from the Algerian Economic Renewal Council was received in audience by the Italian Vice-Minister of Economic Development in charge of business, Mr. Valentino Valentini, the employers’ organization said on Friday in a statement.
This is, according to the body, the first meeting granted to a foreign delegation by Mr. Valentini since his appointment to the Italian Ministry of Economic Development.
According to Italian observers, “this meeting confirms the great interest given to strengthening economic cooperation between the two friendly countries,” read the communiqué.
During the meeting, which took place in the presence of Mr. Soufiane Amara, First Counselor at the Algerian Embassy in Rome, Mr. Valentino “strongly underlined the excellent political relations with Algeria and both sides’ determination to intensely raise the level of economic partnership through the transfer of know-how and innovative technologies, particularly in the sectors of agriculture, mining, tourism and textiles,” added the press release.
After a presentation on the new investment bill, the president of the body, Kamel Moula, expressed “his availability to support Italian economic operators in the identification of Algerian partners to lead to the creation of Joint-Ventures”, added the document.
“An ambitious co-production partnership can open the doors to a joint export of manufactured and certified products to Europe and Africa,” estimated the council.
