Ankara (Turkey), (SPS) - Member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Secretary-General of the Union of Workers of Saguia el-Hamra and Río de Oro (UGTSARIO), Mr. Salama Bashir, has taken part in the 11th Congress of the Turkish Patriotic Party, which started Saturday in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
The Turkish Patriotic Party, known for its anti-colonial and anti-imperialist stances, called for respect for peoples’ rights and self-determination, and confronting the imperialist alliance.
In his address to the participants in the Congress, the Chairman of the Party, Mr. Dogu Perincek, evoked the Sahrawi people and their struggle against colonialism, calling for respect for their rights.
In the evening, the leader of the Party and his team held a meeting with the delegations participating in the Congress, where he stressed the importance of the participation of the Polisario Front and the need to respect the right of the African Sahrawi people.
In this regard, Mr. Salama Bashir expressed the appreciation of the Sahrawi people and the Polisario Front for the invitation to attend the Congress of the Turkish Patriotic Party, calling for more cooperation and strengthening of ties.
The representative of the Polisario Front in the 11th Congress of Turkish Patriotic Party conveyed to the leader of the Party the congratulations and wishes of the Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, inviting him to visit the Sahrawi state and participate in the 16th Congress of the Polisario Front scheduled to be organized in mid-January 2023.
On the second day of the 11th Congress of Turkish Patriotic Party, attended by 1,200 participants, the message of the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, addressed to the Conference, was read.
