ALGIERS-The Court of Algiers sentenced Thursday the former CEO of Sonatrach, Abdelmoumen Ould Kaddour to 10 years in prison accompanied by a fine worth DZD1 million, in a case of corruption under the purchase of the “Augusta” refinery.
In the same case, Ahmed El-Hachemi Mazighi, adviser to the former CEO of Sonatrach, was sentenced to 4 years in prison with a fine of one (01) million DA, while the wife of the main defendant, Anissa Ouabdessalam, was sentenced to an 18-month suspended prison sentence.
The same court confirmed the decision to confiscate all movable and immovable property, and accounts seized in connection with this case.
The Attorney General at the Court of Algiers had requested during the trial which took place, last Tuesday, a sentence of 15 years in prison against Abdelmoumen Ould Kaddour, 10 years in prison against Ahmed El-Hachemi Mazighi and 5 years in prison against the wife of the main defendant.
